Scaleway Transactional Email Mail

Scaleway Transactional Email sends mail from a verified domain and keeps its data in France. It is the mailer a production environment with a domain gets by default.

By Scaleway, France. Brewless sets this up on a deploy.

What Brewless does

Set up in your project

A deploy sets up Transactional Email in your own Scaleway project for the domain the environment sends from.

The default in production

A production environment with a domain gets it unless brewless.yml says mail: false or the environment has a MAIL_MAILER of its own.

DNS records named

The records the domain needs are named on the deploy and written into a DNS zone Brewless manages after your yes.

Copies on the Mail page

A copy of every mail is kept in a private bucket of the environment for 7 days by default, for the console to show its headers and a preview.

What you do

  1. Give the environment a domain, or say mail: scaleway for it in brewless.yml.
  2. Agree to the DNS records on the deploy, or add them where your DNS lives.
  3. Send with Laravel's own mailer; no extra package is needed.

  production:
    mail: scaleway

Questions

Can it receive mail?
No. Transactional Email sends only; replies and other inbound mail need a mailbox somewhere else.
Is there a limit?
Scaleway sets a monthly limit for a new project and raises it after a support request. The blog post has the numbers.
